The Hartford City Band offers educational scholarships to students in the Hartford, Wisconsin, area. Scholarships are awarded to selected applicants each year in the Spring. A candidate can apply for multiple scholarships but can only be awarded one of the below scholarships in a given year. A candidate can apply for and be awarded the same or another scholarship in a subsequent year.
Scholarship information will be posted on this website no later than December 1st of each year. Applications must be received by March 15th.
The Hartford City Band intends to award the following scholarships in the Spring of each year:
The Fred and Joyce Aliota Scholarship:
The Fred and Joyce Aliota Scholarship is a $2,000 (in 2023) scholarship awarded annually to a music student living in the Hartford area pursuing a music degree at an accredited college or university. The Scholarship may be awarded to the same applicant more than once, providing their selection has the approval of the Scholarship Selection Committee. The Scholarship Selection Committee will evaluate the applicants on their musical career objectives, scholastic ability, character, and financial need.

The Doug and Margaret Smith Scholarship:
The Doug and Margaret Smith Scholarship is a $2,000 (in 2023) continuing education scholarship. The applicant can pursue a degree in any major. They must have successfully completed at least two (2) full semesters of schooling at an accredited college or university at the time of application. Additionally, the applicant must be a graduate of either Hartford Union High School or Slinger High School.
